What is the Pidgin Story Competition?
Genti Media is proud to host our premier writing competition in honor of Nigerian Pidgin English with the goal of promoting Nigerian Pidgin content and production both in Africa and across the diaspora. The Top 10 winning stories will be produced for the Genti Audio app.
Guidelines
Themes: There are no themes. Participants have complete creative control.
Format: Times New Roman; 12px; 1.5 Line spacing.
Stories MUST be written in Nigerian Pidgin English.
Entrants must be 18 years old or over.
Entries can ONLY be made through the google form link.
Only ONE entry is allowed per person.
Story should be submitted in PDF format.
DO NOT include your name anywhere on your document.
All entries must meet the strict word count (2500-3000). Your title is not part of the word count.
Your story title and word count ONLY should be written on the first page. Start your story on Pg. 2.
What is the selection process?
Genti Winners
All entrants confirm that they hold the copyright for their entry. Any entry found to be plagirized or copied, will be disqualified.
A shortlist of the Top 10 Stories will be selected.
1st Place will be awarded ₦100,000.
1st to 3rd place will have their stories converted to audio & distributed in an anthology on Genti Audio App.
Royalties based on Genti Standard deal will also be given to all stories selected.
Top 10 Contestants will be announced LIVE on Genti TV and across all Genti streaming platforms.
